KHOST CITY (PAN): A newly-constructed building for the juvenile correction centre was inaugurated in southeastern Khost province on Sunday, an official said.
The building, constructed in seven months, cost 17 million afghanis provided by US forces in the province, Governor Abdul Jabbar Naeemi told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the building had a dining hall, a training centre and other facilities. It would play an important role in reforming juvenile detainees, he hoped.
A dozen juvenile prisoners were previously kept in a rented house, but with the construction of the building, they would have access to better living and education conditions, said Director of Justice Department Qanun Gul.
