KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): A suicide bomber killed and wounded up to 30 people in the capital of southern Kandahar province on Saturday, an official said.
The bomber struck in front of the Kabul Bank branch at 11am, when a large number of government servants were receiving their salaries.
Javed Faisal, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the attacker on foot blew himself near a search point in front of the bank.
Based on preliminary information, tow police and Four civilians were killed and 20 others wounded in the explosion, the gubernatorial spokesman said. The casualties included civilians and policemen, he added.
But a source in the Mirwais Civil Hospital confided 30 bodies and wounded people had been evacuated to the hospital.
