ASADABAD (PAN): Pakistani forces have fired a new volley of missiles into the Narai district of eastern Kunar province, a senior official said on Monday.
As many as 40 missiles landed in Batash and Ancha areas of the district over the past 24 hours and the strike was still going on, Governor Shujaul Mulk Jalala told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Civilians suffered no casualties in the missile attack that inflicted financial losses on residents and forced their displacement, he said, warning the situation could deteriorate if the cross-border shelling continued.
Tens of residents have suffered casualties and hundreds of families have been displaced as a result of repeated missile attacks from Pakistan on Kunar over the past two years.
