HERAT CITY (PAN): A group of 12 saboteurs, allegedly involved in disruptive activities, was busted on Thursday in western Herat province, an official said.
Police spokesman Col. Abdul Rauf Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the group was detained in the third police district of Herat City.
Uniforms of security forces, used in kidnapping bids and anti-state acts, were recovered from the group, Ahmad said, adding the detainees had confessed to committing different crimes.
Referring to Yaum-i-Ashur, the police spokesman said the day had passed off peacefully in the provincial capital and districts. There had been no report of violence so far, he concluded.
