ASADABAD (PAN): Four lady teachers were wounded on Monday when mortar shells struck their school in the Ghaziabad district of eastern Kunar province, an official said.
The school’s headmistress was among those wounded by the Taliban-fired mortar shells, the governor’s spokesman, Abdul Ghani Mosamam, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He added the injured were evacuated to the main provincial hospital for medical treatment. There was no immediate reaction from the Taliban.
But Asadabad Civil Hospital Director Farooq Sahak said the female teachers were in critical condition and had been referred to a Jalalabad.
