ISLAMABAD (Pajhwok): Pakistan militants fleeing ongoing airstrikes in northwest tribal region from entering its territory.
Pakistani fighter jets bombed Taliban’s positions in North and South Waziristan after the collapse of a peace dialogue over the ceasefire controversy.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tasnim Aslam told a weekly news briefing in Islamabad they were hopeful that Afghanistan, as per its international and bilateral understanding, would not allow any terrorist fleeing tribal areas to take refuge on its territory.
She said Islamabad had emphasized that Pakistani soil should not be used against its neighbours and the Afghan soil should not be used against Pakistan.
She recalled during recent trilateral summit in Turkey’ s Ankara, Pakistan and Afghanistan had reiterated their commitment to not allowing their soil to be used against each other.
