GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A district crime branch chief was killed along with another person in a powerful explosion in the capital of southern Ghazni province on Wednesday, an official said.
Seven civilians were injured in the blast that happened around noon in front of Crime Branch office, the governor’s spokesman, Shafiq Nang, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The dead official was identified as Zahir Khan. “The explosives were attached to a bicycle and detonated by a remote-control device,” the spokesman said.
Ghazni Civil Hospital Director Baz Mohammad Himmat confirmed receiving two bodies and seven wounded people — all civilians. One of them is said to be in critical condition.
