FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Four policemen and as many fighters have been killed in a gunbattle in western Farah province, the police chief said on Friday.
The overnight clash was triggered by a militant attack on a police check-post in the Gulnah area of Bala Baluk district, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Raziq Yaqubi told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Four policemen and four attackers were killed in the engagement, he said, adding six militants were wounded. Some rebels managed to escape, leaving behind their weapons.
