SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): A militant has been killed when the bomb he was planting went off prematurely in Faizabad district of northwestern Jawzjan province, an official said Wednesday.
The incident took place when the rebel was planting the bomb in a school in Haydarabad village of the district last night, provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Abdulhai Yashin, director education department, termed the incident as anti education action and said the explosion caused no casualties but damaged shattered windowpanes of the school’s building.
“Such activities by anti-state and social elements leave negative impact on students’ mind but parents of the area want their children to be educated,” Yashin added.
However, militants yet to comment on the incident.
