AIBAK (Pajhwok): Construction work on a new building for the Governor’s House in northern Samangan province was launched on Thursday.
Governor Khairullah Anosh and other provincial officials attended the groundbreaking ceremony in Aibak, the provincial capital.
The three-storey building planned on four acres of land would have 50 rooms, the governor said, adding funds for the project had been provided from the national development budget.
Finance Director Abdul Hai Farhat said lack of offices had been the major problem at the Governor’s House, where more than two section officers worked under a single roof.
He said 95 percent government offices had buildings in Samangan and the remaining operated from rented houses.
