NWA refugees want more aid, shelter

SHARAN (Pajhwok): A number of refugees’ families who fled North Waziristan Agency (NWA) following Pakistani military anti-militants offensive demanded the government and aid agencies to provide them with direly needed food stuff and shelter.

Thousands of families from North Waziristan took shelter in Khost and other parts of Paktika province when Pakistani military started bombardment parts of the tribal region.

Different tribes such as Wazir, Dawar, Mehsud and others arrived in Orgun, Birmal, Nika, Gayan and Zerrok districts of Afghanistan.

The families expressed satisfaction following Afghan government aid and relief cooperation with them but they demanded other aid organizations to ensure provision of more relief goods to them because they left everything behind them in North Waziristan.

Nooruddin, a refugee from North Waziristan, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “We’re grateful to the Afghan people and the government for their extended cooperation at this testing time. We have left everything back in our homes in Waziristan and we demanded the government to further facilitate the refugees’ families.”
