Also a renowned jihadi leader, Sayyaf said the elements involved in violence and crime were not Muslims. He also condemned the supporters of militants.
Addressing a Martyrs Day gathering in Kabul, the ex-presidential runner claimed the people who brought the terrorists in vehicles with tinted glasses to Kabul for killing civilians were to blame equally.
Those offering shelter to killers are excluded from Islam, according to Sayyaf, who cited verses from the Quran of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in support of his argument.
He reiterated the people who connived with the insurgents at suicide bombings and other assaults were not Muslims. By the same token, he explained, God would punish the individuals aiding tyrants.
The ex-lawmaker praised Afghan security forces, saying they were performing a sacred duty in protecting their country and people.
Sayyaf also referred to Prophet Muhammad’s saying: “An hour in the trench is equal to 60 years of worship.” He also stressed the need for waging a war on espionage.
The spies had sold their religion and country, he observed, asking the government not to spare the people who disregarded the supreme national interest.
