KABUL (Pajhwok): Kabul police have detained 72 individuals on different charges in various localities of the central capital during the outgoing week, the force said in a statement.
The statement said the men were detained in limits of the fourth, fifth, sixth and eighth police district zones during 51 various incidents.
The charges included murder, armed robberies and others, the statement from the police headquarters said, adding the detainees were being interrogated. It said such police actions had resulted in reduced crime ratio in Kabul.
Kabul residents praised the arrests of suspected criminals. Mohammad Hakim, who lives in the fourth police district area, said armed robberies had lately increased in Kabul, but police crackdowns on criminals had created a sense of security among dwellers.
