JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Militants decapitated four civilians after kidnapping them in eastern Nangarhar province, the governor’s spokesman said on Tuesday.
Ahmad Zia Abdulzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in the Gurgurai locality of Haska Mina district. The civilians, he said, had been abducted three days ago.
The governor has issued strict directives to district officials to probe the incident. A tribal elder, wishing not to be named, claimed the captors beheaded the men and cut off some of their organs.
He said rebels had dubbed the civilians as spies. The fighters also warned locals against collecting the dead bodies for some time. Three of the victims were from Pachiragam and one from Haska Mina.
