Sherzad told Pajhwok Afghan News 310 different weapons were released to the DIAG at today’s ceremony. The weapons include Kalashnikovs, pistols and various types of other guns.

Sherzad said the weapons had been seized as a result of 165 operations during the solar year that ends on March 21. Police detained and referred to judicial organs 129 individuals in connection with the arms.

He said Afghan security forces had gained enough strength and they had carried out successful operation in various parts of the province during the year, suppressing insurgents and improving security.

Deputy Governor Gardiwal called the handover of weapons to DIAG a positive step and praised the security forces for their efforts in this regard.

He said the security transition had been completed and Afghan forces were in charge of all security operations and they had since made many achievements.
