KABUL against terrorism had considerably improved following the Dec 16 massacre of schoolchildren in Peshawar.
Addressing the nation parliament’s lower house on Friday, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan praised “complete cooperation” with Afghanistan as the “most effective coordination that did not happen in history before.
This he said while referring to protests in Peshawar by some relatives of 149 students and staff killed in the Dec 16 attack on the army public school over the alleged lack of investigative progress.
Nisar said the cooperation between the two countries came after Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif held talks with the new Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
He also cited two anti-militant operations jointly carried out by Afghan and Pakistani forces near the border, where Pakistani Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. However, the minister declined to speak more about the situation in order not to let the militants escape.
