JALALABAD (PAJHWOK): Taliban have torched yet another school building in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said Monday.
Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News some unidentified gunmen set the building of high school on fire in Mumandara district last night.
The building, he said had been partially damaged. He said police had started investigation to nab the perpetrators.
Muhammad Asif Shinwari, spokesman of education directorate, said the incident took place at Basul area of the district. He said the fire was controlled with the help of locals.
No one claimed responsibility for the incident. Two weeks back, militants blew up a school in Haska Mina district of the province.
