QALAT (Pajhwok): For the first time in the past 14 years, the state-run Radio Television Afghanistan (RTA) on Thursday took the lead to open a local studio in southern Zabul province and start broadcasting programmes.
Local officials said programmes aired from the studio would play a positive role in enlightening the minds of local populations.
RTA official in Zabul Bismillah Ludin told Pajhwok Afghan News initially the channel would air its programmes from 4am to 6pm and the timing would be extended once resources increased.
