KABUL's concern at the artillery shelling on Narri district of Afghanistan by the Pakistani forces, a statement said.
The statement released by MoFA stated that late on Tuesday Deputy MoFA Atiqullah Atifmal “registered strong protest with Pakistani envoy over attacks by Pakistani forces inside Afghanistan’s territory.”
“Pakistan security forces launched attacks with heavy and small weapons on Tuesday. Eight Afghan police personnel were killed in those attacks. The shelling sparked fire in the Dukalam bazaar and inflicted heavy material losses on the residents of the locality,” he told the ambassador.
The MoFA went on to say: “It is not the first time that you’re being summoned regarding Pakistani attacks into Afghanistan territory but unfortunately we did not observe any change in Pakistan’s stance in this regard.”
Earlier, on Tuesday, at least 13 persons have suffered casualties as Pakistani forces attacked Nari district of eastern Kunar province.
Kunar police chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Sayed Khail told Pajhwok Afghan News the attack from Pakistani border targeted Dokalam area of the district on border zero point around 3: 00 pm on Monday.
Pakistani forces attacked Afghan security forces that caused casualties among Afghan soldiers and civilians, he said.
Four shops and a hotel were burnt inside the Afghanistan territory by Pakistani forces, he said, adding that Afghan forces also fired on the Pakistani forces in retaliation to the attack.
Atifmal said Afghanistan would protect its civilians and expected Pakistan to observe maximum restraints in future. He said such kinds of attacks were against international norms and would leave far-reaching negative impact on bilateral ties.
Hussain promised to convey the concerns of the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Pakistani authorities.
