KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Afghan security forces have retreated from the Bala Hisar, an ancient hilltop fortress overlooking Kunduz City, the capital of northern Kunduz province, allowing Taliban militants to capture the area, police said on Wednesday.
Kunduz police spokesman Syed Sarwar Hussaini told Pajhwok Afghan News that the military, police and intelligence personnel staged the retreat from Bala Hisar at about 5pm this afternoon.
