PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Local security officials on Saturday said intense fighting between the Taliban and Afghan forces was ongoing in the Dand-i-Shahabuddin area of northern Baghlan province.
Deputy police chief for the province, Col. Abdur Rashid Bashir, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the ongoing clashes erupted early Saturday morning.
“Afghan forces are closing in on the militants from three sides to pave the ground for Breshna Shirkat (power utility) workers to repair the power cables cut some days ago,” he said.
