SHARAN (Pajhwok): Some children from the Barmal district of southeastern Paktika province are forced to go to Pakistani schools across the border, residents said on Saturday.
The issue was raised at a public meeting, which was attended by Barmal residents, area elders and Deputy Minister of Border and Tribal Affairs Abdul Ghafoor Lewal.
Speaking on the occasion, tribal elder Sohbat Khan claimed thousands of students from the district were enrolled in Pakistani schools due to lack of education facilities in the area.
