Addressing a ceremony marking the 37th anniversary of the mass killing of 117 Islamic Movement members in Pul-i-Charki prison, the former jihadi commander said the then cruel regime killed 117 active youth of Islamic Nuhzat party of Afghanistan at night in the prison.
The government of Sardar Mohammad Daud betrayed the arrested people and handed them over to the regime of Noor Mohammad Taraki who issued execution order of all political inmates, he said.
“The Mujahiddin of Afghanistan sacrificed their lives for independence of Afghanistan, but now some people are trying to isolate them. The dream of such people would not come true and mujahiddin would not be excluded from political process.”
“This country belongs to mujahidin and those who came here with foreign passports (dual nationals) should go back to their countries because Afghanistan would be only saved by Mujahiddin with their sacrifices.”
“Our silence and carefulness doesn’t mean we are week, but we don’t want our country to be divided, “ said Sayyaf, while asking the government to consult the Mujahiddin in decisions on important issues.
“You experienced the result of slavery. Some of you have been killed and others died in prisons. If you don’t join the peace process, you would also be killed like your leaders,” he said, as he referred to the Taliban, asking Pakistan to shun its bad activities against Afghanistan.
The leader of a Hezb-i-Islami Afghanistan faction, Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, also praised the sacrifices of Mujahiddin throughout the history and not surrendering to occupation forces. All leaders of the country should be united to resolve current problems of the country, he said.
The deputy chairman of the council, Mohammad Younus Qanuni, said “the people of the world experience new developments each day, but we remember the bitter days. The main problem is that political leaders of the country are not united to resolve the issues of Afghanistan.”
