Rashidan district court judge gunned down in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead an appellant court judge for the Rashidan district of southern Ghazni province inside his residence in the capital Kabul, a security official said on Tuesday.

The murder took place at 12:30am in the Dewan-i-Begi area in the limits of the firth police district, said Brig. Gen. Humayun Aini, chief of the interior ministry’s 119 emergency helpline.

Aini said Bakht Gul was serving as senior judge of the appellant court in Rashidan district of southern Ghazni province. The assailants managed to escape.

Ghazni police chief Brig. Gen. Aminullah Amarkhel confirmed the incident. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
