Sherzad was killed in a traffic accident on the Kunduz-Baghlan highway yesterday night. In a statement, the senior advisor to the President on public relations and strategic affairs expressed their sadness over the demise of Sherzad.
“Yama Sherzad was one of the bravest and successful journalists of our country who provided latest news from the north.”
The statement said Sherzad had been busy doing his research on Afghanistan-Pakistan relations. Professionalism, knowledge, bravery and patriotism were special characteristics of Sherzad, contained the newsletter.
The senior presidential advisor extended deep condolences to the family of Sherzad family and his colleagues over the painful incident.
Afghanistan National Union of Journalists has also expressed sadness and grief over the death of Sherzad.
Sherzad will be laid to rest today.
