<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a> (Pajhwok): A notorious leader of a robbery gang was killed and his three friends arrested during an encounter with police in capital Kabul on Tuesday, an official said.</p>
<p>Kabul police chief Lt. Gen. Abdul Rahman Rahimi told reporters here that the leader of the armed robbers group, Zubair, had been involved in looting homes and people and stealing cars over the past seven years in Kabul city.</p>
<p>He said the thieves were cunning and skilful who had escaped several times from police custody.</p>
<p>Police wanted to arrest Zubair alive, but he and his accomplices opened fire at police and he was killed in retaliatory firing, Rahimi said, adding three other thieves were arrested.</p>
<p>Rahimi added three pistols and three Corolla model cars were seized from the robbers.</p>
<p>He ordered police forces to advise robbers of all level to surrender or they would be killed.</p>
<p>Kabul police on Sunday said they had arrested 191 people involved various crimes.</p>
