During his ambassadorial tenure, McKinley made untiring efforts to strengthen Afghan-US relations and expand bilateral cooperation, a statement from the Palace said.
The diplomat also played a key role in supporting efforts for peace in Afghanistan and the region at large, as well as in attracting foreign assistance to the war-hit country.
