FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Policemen and militants have suffered casualties during a clash in the Pushtrod district of western Farah province, local officials said on Friday.
The casualties occurred at on Thursday night when a large number of Taliban stormed a police checkpoint in the Masawo Square area of the district.
Mohammad Nasir Mehar, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News six insurgents and two policemen were killed in the ensuing clash.
He said the gunbattle continued until 3am.
