Kidnapped boy found dead in Faryab

<p>MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A high school student was found dead Monday after remaining missing for one and a half months in northern Faryab province, an official said.</p>

<p>The slain boy had been kidnapped by unknown gunmen from Maimana, the provincial capital, when he was going home from school.</p>

<p>Intelligence personnel Monday found dead body of the 21-year-old during in a special operation in Zahir-Abad first district of Maimana city.</p>

<p>A security official, wishing anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News they retrieved the boy’s corpse from a well in a house. Four suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident, the official said.</p>

<p>Police spokesman Abdul Karim Yourash confirmed the incident and said <a href="/en/nds" class="glossify-link">NDS</a> personnel found the boy’s remains.</p>

<p>Haji Shir Mohammad, the victim’s father, claimed security forces had committed negligence in finding his son.</p>

<p>However, the kidnappers had demanded $300,000 in ransom from the boy’s family, an amount beyond their affordability.</p>
