JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least 13 militants, including Daesh and Taliban, have been killed and two others wounded in US drone strikes and clash in different districts of eastern Nangarhar province, and official said on Thursday.

Nine Daesh militants were killed and another injured during the overnight drone strike in the Naraioba area of Haska Mena district, said Police Chief Spokesman Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal. He said all killed and wounded were foreigners.

Separately, two Daesh commanders were also perished in another drone strike by foreign forces in Achin district. The unmanned aircraft targeted the militants in Pikhi Khwar area late on Wednesday night.

Elsewhere, Afghan Local Police (ALP) and Afghan National Police (ANP) clashed with the Taliban insurgents in Lalpori district of the province.  There were no casualties inflicted on security personnel, said Mashriqiwal, adding two foreign Taliban were killed and another wounded in the firefight.

Mashriqiwal assured there were no casualties inflicted on civilians in the two drone airstrikes.

There has been so far no comment from Daesh or Taliban in this regard.
