PUL-I-ALAM/KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): Six rebels have joined the peace process in central Logar province and separately another six militants were arrested in southern Kandahar province, officials said Monday.
The militants reconciled in Azra district of Logar, the town’s administrative head, Hamidullah Hamid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The former fighters included a local commander Mullah Anzor aka Lewani accused of preventing public projects, killing and other destructive activities.
They turned in three Kalashnikovs, a rocket launcher, a machinegun, 20 rocket shells, a pistol . . .
