At a media briefing in Beijing, the foreign ministry spokesman said that China had noted reports about deaths and injuries caused by Friday’s exchange of fire.
“As a close neighbour of both Pakistan and Afghanistan, the Chinese side hopes the two countries will properly address the issue,” Geng Shuang told a questioner.
Kabul and Islamabad would jointly work for peace and stability, he said, as the Chaman Friendship Gate in Kandahar’s Spin Boldak district remains closed.
