KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani has issued a decree, tasking the second vice-president and the chief executive officer (CEO) with supervising the distribution of electronic identity cards (e-tazkiras).
According to a statement from the second vice-president’s office, the six-article decree -- formally issued on May 13 -- was aimed at acceleration the preparation and distribution of electronic ID cards.
The order also seeks implementation of the operational plan, audit of financial and executive affairs, creation of a leadership committee, ensuring transparency in employment and reporting on the programme.
