KABUL (Pajhwok): The appellate court on Wednesday awarded an eight months jail term to the Herat provincial council chairman, an official said.
Kamran Alizai was accused of misusing his authority. On March 27, the Anti-Corruption Justice Center (ACJC) had sentenced him to two and a half years in f jail.
However, Alizai rejected the ACJC decision and surrendered to police. The previous verdict had been handed down in absentia. But he was present in the appellate court today.
