KABUL (JIA) demand for the sacking of National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar as politically motivated.
Qader Shah, the NSC Strategic Department head, said Atmar had no executive powers and worked as advisor to the president on national security. He added the security of Kabul was being maintained by other institutions.
Shah said JIA’s demand for the removal of Atmar was political and based on other considerations.
Earlier, JIA called for investigations into the recent attacks in Kabul and dismissal of the NSA and security sector leadership.
The party leaders, including Salahuddin Rabbani, said if their demands were not accepted, they would take decisions on how to realize ‘positive change.’
