SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Opium weighing 343 kilograms has been seized by police after half an hour clash with smugglers in northern Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Tuesday.
Brig. Gen. Khalilullah Dastyar, deputy provincial police chief, said the drugs were captured by Sar-i-Pul 2nd Highway police in Angot area of Sar-i-Pul city, the provincial capital, on Monday night.
He said the smugglers had been able to escape taking advantage of the darkness at night.
