HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani says a special committee is being established to assess with public cooperation the security situation in western Herat province.
Ghani travelled to Herat on Friday evening to visit the Jawaida Mosque, where scores of worshippers were killed and wounded in a suicide bombing this week.
The president, who met families of the victims, said the proposed committee would evaluate the situation in the province. Public support was needed to thwart attacks on places of worship, he stressed.
