AIBAK (Pajhwok): A senior municipality official shot dead a man who wanted to kidnap him in the capital of northern Samangan province, police said on Wednesday.
The slain person, identified as Faizullah, was breaking the gate of the house of Abdul Shakoor, technical manager at the municipality department of Aibak, the provincial capital, last night to kidnap Shakoor.
Faizullah opened fire at Shakoor as he reached the gate of his house and wounded him, but Faizullah was killed in Shakoor’s retaliatory fire from his pistol.
