District police chief killed in Ghazni bomb attack

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): The police chief for the Jaghato district of southern Ghazni province was killed in a roadside bombing on Thursday, an official said.

Provincial police head Brig. Gen Mohammad Zaman told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion took place in the morning.

He said the district police chief, 2^nd Lt. Merajan, was heading to his office when hit by the roadside bomb. His bodyguard was wounded.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. Merajan was the third police chief for Jaghato district to be killed within a month.
