KABUL (Pajhwok): A suicide bomber was killed on Friday in a blast caused by his own explosives in central Maidan Wardak province, police said.
The blast took place between Kotal Takht and Arghandi Chowk areas on the Kabul-Ghazni highway, killing only the attacker, said Naqibullah Amini, the provincial police spokesman.
He said the attacker wanted to target security forces convoy on the road. He said the attacker had mutilated beyond recognition.
Another person was arrested in injured condition at the site of the blast, the police official said.
Amini said the detainee, Imran, was a resident of Narkh district and brother in law of a Taliban group leader, Sher Shah, in the district.
