KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Students, their parents and teachers of Afghan-Turk Schools demanded the continuation of their schools and urged the government not to scarify their education for the sake of politics.
Tens of students and their parents of Shah Hussain Afghan-Turk schools gathered at the Kandahar press club and shared their demands to the media.
Haji Bismillah, who spoke on the representation of students’ parents, said the Shah Hussain Afghan-Turk High School was the only institution that provided quality education and no one would allow its closure.
He said the government should not deprive around 10,000 students of Afghan-Turk schools from quality education on the bases of political deal.
He warned against wide protests and other civil movements if the government decided to close the Afghan-Turk schools.
Other students and their parents expressed their views and said they took the issue very seriously and would not allow the closure of Afghan-Turk schools.
The Turkey government has decided to close the Afghan-Turk school programme in Afghanistan.
The Turkish government decided to close the schools after the Fathullah Golan’s groups was accuse of 2016 failed military coup attempt in Turkey.
The first Afghan-Turk school was constructed in Shiberghan, the capital of northern Jawzjan province some 22 years back.
