HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Taliban’s shadow district chief for the Kashk-i-Kohna district has been detained in western Herat province, an official said on Tuesday.
Jilani Farhad, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Mullah Abdul Raoof was held by police while conducting anti-government activities in Shahr-i-Naw area.
A case against the Taliban leader had been referred to detective organs.
Separately, two other individuals were arrested on charges of supplying weapons to militants in Oba district, the spokesman added. A vehicle, five weapons and some ammunition were also seized from the detainees.
