FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): The residents of Purchaman district of western Farah province have long been complaining against the brutality and highhandedness of a powerful family in the town, but the government has never paid heed to their ordeal.
Mohammad Salim Mubariz, the head of the family, who had been the Purchaman district chief for around 10 years, was killed in a roadside bombing.
After his death, his son Mohammad Daud Mubariz started ruling the district and another son Abdul Wali Mubariz was the district police chief until two weeks ago.
