PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Local officials on Sunday said the Taliban had closed all schools in Charkh district of central Logar province.
Charkh district chief Mohammad Hanif Hanifi told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Taliban closed the schools in reaction to an Afghan forces operation launched in the area.
“After Afghan forces killed Mualvi Mohammad, a Taliban commander, during a raid on Friday night, the Taliban in response shut the district’s schools,” he said.
He said they had launched efforts through local tribal elders . . .
