Conde, 22, died Monday as a result of small arms fire from insurgents in the Tagab district of central Kapisa province.
Another soldier was wounded in the operation. Conde was an infantryman deployed to Afghanistan in September to support Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
A statement from his unit said Conde enlisted in the Army in August 2015 and had been assigned to US Army Alaska since April 2016.
So far during the current year, two US military members have been killed . . .
