Pakistan, UAE boards to discuss dates for APL

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan and UAE cricket board officials will meet this week to discuss the Afghan Premier League (APL) schedule, an official said on Saturday.

A source in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) told Pajhwok Afghan News they were not averse to holding of the ACB T20 event in the UAE, where Pakistan plans to host Australia.

“Our only concern is that dates of APL are clashing with our home series (against the Aussies) which we been organising in the UAE since 2010 due to security issues…” the official said

The Sri Lankan team came under terrorist attack in Lahore in March 2009 -- an incident which affected the game as many countries refused to visit in Pakistan.

If the UAE does not respond positively to the PCB request, the Pak-Aussie series will be shifted to Malaysia. The two-day the negotiations are slated for June 26 and 27.
