KABUL Breshna Shirkat (DABS) would refer individuals owing above five million afghanis in unpaid bills to the power utility to the Serious Crime Department for putting them on the Exit Control List (ECL), an official said Sunday.
In addition, the DABS has launched disconnecting electricity supply to consumers defaulting on power bills in five provinces.
DABS spokesman Wahidullah Tawhidi told Pajhwok Afghan News in Kabul alone government institutions, organizations and powerful individuals owed 9.5 million in electricity arrears to DABS.
