LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Efforts have been underway to reopen 123 schools closed due to insecurity and other reasons in southern Helmand province, where some 600,000 children are out of school, an official said Wednesday.
Helmand education director Dawod Sha Safari told a gathering in Lashkargah, the provincial capital, that the closed schools were among the total 417 schools across Helmand.
Currently 49, 000 girls and 21, 3000 boys are enrolled in schools across Helmand, shows statistics with the provincial population department—insufficient keeping in view the province . . .
