FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Insurgents have stormed security posts close to an ancient minaret province, local sources said on Saturday.
An official, who did not want to be named, confided to Pajhwok Afghan News several militants attacked check-posts around Jam Minaret late on Friday night.
The militants set alight the forest around the historic site where a mosque was damaged but the minaret remained unharmed. The assailants retreated after a six hours firefight.
