HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Health officials in western Herat province say more than 200 successful kidney transplant surgeries took place in local hospitals during the past two years.
Dr. Farid Ahmad Ejaz, head of a private hospital in Herat City, the provincial capital, said successful kidney transplant operations had resulted in restoration of people’s trust in local hospitals.
He said some people living in foreign also visited Herat for kidney operations. He said 70 kidney transplant operations took place in the past four months alone.
